The first voluntary fire brigade has started working in Ukraine, in which nuns will serve
The opening of the fire brigade took place on December 22, in the Holy Trinity Motroninsky convent in the village of Melnyky, Medvedivka village territorial community, Cherkasy region.
Five volunteers will take part in the newly created KDP - Abbess Ilaria, two novices of the monastery Larisa and Kristina and two drivers of the fire truck.
In addition to ensuring the fire safety of the monastery and responding to emergencies, under the protection of the fire brigade will be residents of 7 villages and two villages that are part of the rural community. After all, the distance to the nearest fire department is about 20 kilometers.
The day before, the volunteers underwent special training, during which they practiced exercises on combat deployment, water supply and first aid to the victims.
