Volyn region: rescuers and firefighters-volunteers joined forces to teach children safety rules during the New Year holidays
On December 24, an interactive safety lesson for schoolchildren took place in the training center of the Volyn Regional Organization of the Voluntary Fire Brigade of Ukraine.
Classes with fifth-graders of Lutsk Specialized School № 1 were conducted by employees of the Main Directorate of the SES of Ukraine in Volyn Oblast and employees of the DPT of Ukraine.
It was about security aspects during the New Year holidays. The children recalled the rules of fire safety in the home, including when installing a Christmas tree, the requirements for behavior when walking on the street during low temperatures, caution on the ice. Rescuers urged students not to play with firecrackers, explained how dangerous pyrotechnics can be if you break the instructions for its use.
During the theoretical part of the lesson, the young guests watched educational cartoons and videos, as well as received leaflets on safety rules adapted for school-age children.
In the practical part, volunteer firefighters told the fifth-graders about the peculiarities of the structure of fire extinguishers on the example of a layout in section, as well as demonstrated the primary means of firefighting in action. Everyone had the opportunity to learn how to use a fire extinguisher.
